Glendale
Kentucky

The Stars had a great turnout Saturday, April 29th, for another wonderful lunch at Tony York’s in Glendale, Kentucky.

Tony personally welcomed us back, and shared some little known Glendale facts with us - Kentucky was on the forefront of the right to vote for women, when in 1867 thirty women in Glendale organized the first in the South local suffrage organization. An amazing fact, considering that women did not get voter's rights until 1920!

Tony prepared a "comfort food menu" for us, featuring his mother's recipes; fried chicken, country ham, or meatloaf, served with mashed potatoes and green beans, and for dessert, peach cobbler with ice cream - for those who weren't already stuffed! Tony also served us an amazing salad to start, with a dressing we'd love to have the recipe for!

After lunch, we discussed our upcoming events for the remainder of the year. The Announcement just went out for our May event, and you can also read about it here on Facebook.

Several of our members also shared some of their recent unusual and unfortunate personal Benz stories with us, which we all enjoyed and sympathized with, too.

Finally, we were glad to see members Tom and Abby Abell, from Lexington, who joined us and we hope to see them at more events in the future!

Until next time, Happy Motoring!
